Foxy would never steal a mint!

Foxy would never steal a mint!
But foxy would steal a heart
Hide it with the others
Rot and sorrow for their worth
Rotting rot and sorrow too!
Foxy would never steal a mint!
But they’d mine for one
Mine deep mine long
Mine til they strike a lode
Exploit it while worth
Roting rot and sorrow
You know it too!
Foxy would never steal a mint!
But they’d steal your dreams
Hide them with the others
To rot in sorrow in sorrow!

WIP 3949: For the Bear

[Download: audio | video | cover images]

A poem about isolation in the time of covid-19.

A snippet from an upcoming project.

Summer

deadly wine in summer
when there is no rain
in summer without remorse
she sat beside me
momentarily in a park
left me smiling
that stupid smile
in shameless summer
with its withered grass
and suffocating air
she sat beside me
momentarily
in summer
left me smiling
that stupid smile
in summer
in a park

The Longness of You

Between the longness of you
And my shortness of breath
Cicadas sing
Our moon falls into shadow
